Chris Tibbotts

PRESIDENT

I was born and raised in Christchurch New Zealand.
I spent 23 years of my working life working as an emergency paramedic for
St John ambulance. In that time, I was involved in various committees and steering groups as well as being a qualified ambulance instructor. I spent the last 8 years as a station manager in command of 27 staff (paid and volunteer) and two emergency ambulances. I was also heavily involved in urban, land and cave search and rescue.
I left the ambulance industry to move to Australia in 2007 where I started a position as a medical sales specialist in the surgical industry. During this time, I met my wife Deb and in 2013 we started our own company specialling in stroke rehab and electrical modalities. We continued to run this business until we closed it down to make the move to Mount Perry in 2018.

Nathan Petersen

Nathan Petersen

COMMITTEE MEMBER

Nathan Petersen moved to the Mt Perry region from Rockhampton in December 2021 with his wife and daughters. He relocated so he could provide his family with a rural upbringing and a slower pace of life.
Nathan is a trade qualified carpenter and completed his carpentry apprenticeship in 1992. He specialises in Queenslander timber homes, and his career has spanned over thirty years.

Nathan is active in the community and he has assisted the Mt Perry primary school when they’ve required a cleaner, while he runs his own business as the Principal of the only Mt Perry-based real estate agency. His real estate promotes our region widely and Nathan is happy to say, he has welcomed new families to the area.

Nathan enjoys the natural environment and the outdoor lifestyle Mt Perry provides. Nathan has a focus on health and fitness and during the summer season, he travels with the southern waterski circuit to compete in slalom, trick and jump categories. His goal is to qualify for the world championships.

Nathan joined the executive committee of MPCDB to fulfil his sense of community, and to provide insight and support to the many projects on foot.

Deb Tibbotts

Deb Tibbotts

COMMITTEE MEMBER

My husband Chris and I purchased a block of land in Mount Perry in 2018 and in 2019 relocated a 110 year old house from Tin Can Bay onto the block.  We are restoring this beautiful home and enjoying retirement on our lifestyle farm.  Our aim is to have a fully functional self-sufficient existence with our vegetable garden, orchard as well as breeding pigs, goats, cattle and soon sheep.

My background is in Office Management working in legal, real estate, hospitality and music industries then moving on to co-owning an Advertising Agency then a Medical Sales company before deciding to retire early.

Chris and I felt an immediate emotional tie to Mt Perry; its surrounds and its people and we look forward to being involved in making Mount Perry a town people want to come visit, stay and explore.  As a community I strongly feel we can do this with the help of the Mount Perry Community Development Board.

It is with pleasure that I accepted the role of Treasurer in 2020 and I look forward to working with the Board to achieve great things for our Community.
