Debra Tibbotts
Treasurer

My husband Chris and I purchased a block of land in Mount Perry in 2018 and in 2019 relocated a 110 year old house from Tin Can Bay onto the block.  We are restoring this beautiful home and enjoying retirement on our lifestyle farm.  Our aim is to have a fully functional self-sufficient existence with our vegetable garden, orchard as well as breeding pigs, goats, cattle and soon sheep.

My background is in Office Management working in legal, real estate, hospitality and music industries then moving on to co-owning an Advertising Agency then a Medical Sales company before deciding to retire early.

Chris and I felt an immediate emotional tie to Mt Perry; its surrounds and its people and we look forward to being involved in making Mount Perry a town people want to come visit, stay and explore.  As a community I strongly feel we can do this with the help of the Mount Perry Community Development Board.

It is with pleasure that I accepted the role of Treasurer in 2020 and I look forward to working with the Board to achieve great things for our Community.

COMMITTEE MEMBER

Hi, I’m Greg Wallace,

I have lived in the Mount Perry District for all of my life and own a small Cattle Grazing Property.

I commenced employment with Perry Shire Council (PSC) in July 1963. I was appointed Shire Clerk in October 1979 (now known as Chief Executive Officer), a position I held until the amalgamation in March 2008 with other Shires into the North Burnett Regional Council (NBRC). I did not seek a position with the NBRC.

During my years of employment with Perry Shire I believe that I performed my role in a dedicated manner that provided Council with stability that greatly assisted in seeing the Shire being recognised for providing improved infrastructure and services to meet Community needs and to maintain their assets to a high standard without being a burden on ratepayers.

Over the years I have held numerous voluntary executive positions on local organisations and was the Treasurer and a Management Committee Member of the Australians’ Campdraft Association Inc [ACA]. I am currently Secretary of the Mount Perry Rodeo Committee and a member of the Board.

I am honoured that for my services to Local Government (namely Perry Shire) and to the Mount Perry and District community I have been awarded an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in June 2006 and a Centenary Medal (instituted by the Queen to commemorate the Federation of Australia). Being a Life Member of the ACA and the Mount Perry Rodeo Committee, receiving a Perry Shire Australia Day Citizens Award and a Sports Administrator Award and being recognised by the ACA for my contribution to their new Office in Roma are also very special to me.

I consider that I have a sound knowledge of the Mount Perry District and that my employment in local government will assist me to contribute to the betterment of the Development Board and the Mount Perry District.
